In a hot tub enviroment, the potential for electric shock is extremely high as the human body has less resistance to electricity in a warm, wet or moist enviroment.

Water will be splashed around

Iff you were to fall against an electric cable that was covered by a conduate there would still be potential for the cable to be damaged and for you to receive a severe electric shock.

The moist enviroment over a period of time can also affect the insulation of the cables.

This picture shows the oriignal electrical installation which was completely inadequate.

It was necessary to have a freezer in the same room as the hot tub so Arblec built a small room in the corner of the summer hous to accomodate this.

The new electrical circuit created by Arblec is electrically safe in many ways.

1) The circuits are designed so that if there was a fault, the power would trip off within 40 milliseconds.

2) All the switches and sockets are of a type suitable for the warm and moist environment.

3) The waterproof enclosure is there to ensure that no matter how much water is splashed around, there will be no electrical shocks.

4) The cables outside the boxes are protected so that there is almost no chance of an accidental electrical shock.
